Working from home can be daunting. But over the past two years the amount of people working from home has skyrocketed because of the pandemic. Knowing what software to use when bringing a team together is tricky especially if you haven’t been in this situation before. This is where Microsoft teams come in. it’s an all-in-one powerhouse of a virtual workforce application.
The reason I believe Microsoft Teams is so strong is because it has everything in one place such as file sharing, team calling, note taking, background masking, screen sharing, private and team chat rooms as well as calendar functionality all in one place.
Microsoft teams aims to be the only app you need when working remotely, it does this by offering the above-mentioned features and more such as breakout rooms.
Breakout rooms.
A breakout room is a great tool to use when in a large team meeting and you want to split people into smaller groups to discuss and brainstorm certain aspects of the topic. It helps make managing large teams easier by separating them into smaller groups if you don’t want to have a group discussion with 30 people.
Meeting specific chat.
Each meeting held on teams will have a meeting specific chat which will archive anything said in the chat to view later. This function is beneficial when sharing links or instructions as it means every member of your team can go back and find them there for the foreseeable future.

File sharing.
File sharing is integrated into teams, via the use of OneDrive, but unlike google drive it is integrated into teams itself. If you have a presentation to share, you can just drag and drop it into the teams file section and it will be there ready to present.
Screen sharing.
A staple in remote working; screen sharing can be used to showcase work, diagnose problems and it makes it possible to showcase or share anything you can display on your computer, phone or tablet.
Meeting recording.
Another feature which is brilliant when working from home is you can record your meetings. This is extremely handy when doing performance reviews or taking minutes.
These features are extremely helpful when working with a remote workforce and can help you and your business get more from remote working by having every feature you could need in one place.
